JAM FACTORY LAUNCHES NEW GIFT PACK

(November 2004) The Bermuda Jam Factory officially launches its gift pack ‘Jam Rack’ in Bermuda this coming weekend, highlighting the mounting success of a relatively new but prolific Bermudian business venture. The new Jam Rack includes a six mini-jar sampling of the entire Jam Factory line-up, including three new flavours.

The Jam Rack will be available at the Southampton Princess in conjunction with the Bermuda Culinary Arts Festival November 10-16  and sampling will be featured during Sunday afternoon tea at the hotel on November 14. The Jam Factory will also be set up for taste testing and sales at the first Farmer’s Market of the season on November 13.

Jam Factory entrepreneurs Joel McDonell and Grant Kennedy launched the original three Gombey Hot Pepper Jams, ‘Easy Breeze, Storm Surge’ and ‘Hurricane Force’, last spring with the advent of the 2004 Harbour Nights season. The newest flavours are aptly named ‘Gale Warning’, a fruity ‘Tropical Storm’ and a Gombey Not the Hot Pepper Jam ‘Eye of the Storm’. All six flavours can also be purchased in single 9oz jars.

“We’ve been cultivating our new flavours for months”, commented Mr. McDonell. “And it’s exciting to launch the Jam Rack in time for the Culinary Arts Festival.  The Jam Rack will offer attendees a one purchase sampling of our full product line-up, offering wide exposure for our unique tastes”.

Mr. Kennedy is equally enthused about the upcoming Christmas season. He explained, “The Jam Rack will also make a unique Christmas gift with a truly Bermudian flare, ideal for corporate or overseas gift-giving.  We also hope to see the Jam Rack a choice gift locally to widen our Bermudian fan base. Really, our jams are geared for anyone attuned to fine tastes not just the gourmet chef or hot pepper enthusiast”.

In addition to the weekly Farmer’s Market, Jam Factory products can also be purchased at the Hungry Bear in Hamilton. The Jam Factory is also considering other locations in preparation for the Christmas season, which will be advertised later this month.
